Get Active With Me

As my high school weights coach always said, “Let’s get after it!” Working out has been a great escape for me during this crazy time in our world. I know what you’re probably thinking, no gyms are open, how am I supposed to work out?! Despite that, I promise you there are plenty of ways to get out and get active right now! Summer is coming up, with all this time on your hands it’s the perfect time to get that summer body you’ve always dreamed of.

Here are my favorite ways to work out:

FitOn

This app is my go-to! It’s full of all types of workouts including HIIT, core, toning, pilates, yoga, it really has it all. This app has videos of trainers that walk you through the entire workout, and it’s so easy to navigate! If you don’t like one of the trainers, there’s plenty of others to choose from. Each workout is one of three different levels of intensity: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. There is something for everyone on this app, no matter where you are in your fitness journey. The best part about it is it’s free to use, and you can download it right now on your phone from the App Store.

Chloe Ting’s Two-Week Shred

I’ve only had the chance to complete a couple of these workouts, but they’re amazing. This is a 14-day program that will literally whip you into shape, it is intense. There are so many different workouts you can choose from and if there’s one you don’t like, you can get after a different one. If you don’t believe that you’ll see results, there’s plenty of videos on YouTube that you can check out where others share their experiences. To access this free workout plan, click here

Hiking

This is more of a relaxing workout for me, but I have loved visiting local parks to go on hikes. There are different intensities you can choose from no matter where you go. This can be a “walk in the park” or it can be extreme, it’s whatever you make of it. For me, it’s so important to get outside when it’s nice to get some fresh air, this has been a fun activity for me during those times.

Bike Rides/Walks

This is such a simple way to get active but it’s one that I love. The same with hiking, it’s an activity I love to do when it’s nice outside. Last week, my sister and I rode our bikes 2.5 miles to our local ice cream shop, Blue Moon. This was a great way to keep us active and we also got a sweet treat as well! There are so many fun things you can do through bike rides or walks.

The most important thing to remember is along with working out it’s vital to follow a clean diet. If you don’t you’ll never see the results you want. Have you ever heard the saying that abs are made in the kitchen? I’m a firm believer of this statement. So, keep that in mind, I challenge you to take this time to better yourself and get your summer body in shape! What better time than now?
