Trusting Through the Trials

Let’s talk about faith, and the pandemic, even though I’m sure you’re just as tired of hearing about it as I am. But this isn’t a post where I’m going to get political or tell you all the facts that you’ve stopped caring about. I saw a post circulating Facebook that caught my eye. Here’s a brief version of what it said:

“40 days the flood lasted

40 years Moses fled Egypt

40 days Jesus fasted

40 days between Lent and Easter

So, what about the Bible and the number 40?

Remember that we are in the year 2020 (20 + 20 = 40)

40 days for the spiritual liberation of our nation.

During quarantine, rivers are cleaning up, vegetation is growing, the air is cleaner because of less pollution, less theft, families are bonding again, eating at the table, we are praying more for our neighbors, the Earth is at rest for the first time in many years. Surely you can see God has not forsaken us! I believe he is preparing us!

In the Bible, whenever the number 40 appears there is a “change” during that time, no matter how horrible that time may have been. So, enjoy it and return to the family altar together, it will be of great blessing, and you will see the changes that God can work in you & your family!

So this is the time to pray like never before! God is giving us all a chance for renewal of our faith, to come back to him as ONE NATION UNDER GOD!!”

I originally found this post on Church Alive’s Facebook page.

This post really spoke to me. It was a ray of sunshine during these dark times. The stay at home order began in most places on March 23rd and is expected to end on May 1st, this is 40 days exactly. 40 days for a chance of renewal, that is very powerful especially when matched to all the references to “40” in the Bible. I have 40 days to mend broken relationships, to strengthen my relationship with God. So this quarantine really is a blessing. It’s a resting period for the world, and we should take advantage of it. We should use this time to be better but not forget everything God has blessed us with, this time is a blessing and we need to not forget to give thanks to God for it. He knows we needed it.

My mental health leans heavy on my faith. When I start to drift away from God, I always feel my mental health start to decline too. A strong relationship with God is vital for my health. If you didn’t see my post about keeping your head clear and mind healthy, you should check it out. I believe mental health is just as important as physical health. Click here for the link.

When I found that post on Facebook, I was relieved to finally see something positive about COVID-19. I know these times can be hard. Here is my challenge for you: do what you can to get through it, pray when things get tough, and renew yourself. Stay inspired and always have a purpose in mind!
