Bored and Stuck at Home? Us too.

If you read my last blog post, you probably know I was on a trip last week in Washington D.C. I had a great time visiting our nation’s capital. This week, I was looking forward to sharing my spring break plans, my favorite time of the year. But with everything going on, we decided it was better to cancel our beach vacation and play it safe. So, here we are at home, with nothing to do.

We could look at all the negatives in this situation: time off work with no pay, the boredom of having nothing to do, and maybe even being distanced from important people in your life. Or, we could look at the positives: time off to do the things you never had (or made) the time to do, time with yourself to reflect, and a break from everything.

Incase nothing comes to mind when you’re trying to think of things you could do, I’ve come up with a plan for my time off, and I’m going to share it with you.

WORKOUT

I understand during this time a lot of gyms are closing. I’m finding it’s the perfect time to do some at-home workouts that can be done with little to no equipment. Along with this, I know the importance of getting outside where there’s fresh air. I plan on visiting local state parks and going on some hikes. Also, now that I feel the struggle of being inside all day, I’ve been taking my dogs on walks more frequently (so sorry you have to live like this daily, pups).

CLEAN

You know that one place in your house that you always say needs cleaned, but you never actually do it? Yeah, Im sure you’re thinking of that spot right now. I plan to clean all those spots, Lord knows I have the time. Along with cleaning, I’m planning on organizing. I know there’s many spots in my room that need organized. First up, my closet. This one will be a task, but I know it’ll be worth it when it’s all said and done.

EXPRESS GRATITUDE

During many stressful times during my life, my English teacher would stop everything and encourage me and my classmates to take a moment to express genuine gratitude. It’s actually scientifically proven that expressing gratitude can lower your stress levels. We all know we could use that right now. Therefore, I will take a few moments out of my days to express gratitude to those who have helped me get to where I am today.

I plan on taking this time to better myself and GET STUFF DONE. I encourage you all to do the same. This is the perfect time to get all the “I’ll get to it eventually” tasks done. Stay safe everyone and stay home!
